FAQ - Preferred shares Series 2 and 3 conversion privilege

Every 5 years, holders of Series 2 Preferred Shares have the right to convert all or part of their shares into Series 3 Preferred Shares and holders of Series 3 Preferred Shares have the right to convert all or part of their shares into Series 2 on a one-for-one basis.  The conversion will be effective as of August 1st, 2017 for the next cycle.

Series 2: Floating rate based on prime rate
Series 3: Fixed rate 5 years

1)     Key dates:

  • June 16, 2017: Mailing of conversion information package (registered shareholders only) and publishing the related press release
  • July 12, 2017: Official announcement via press release of Series 3 fixed rate for the 2017-2022 period
  • July 18, 2017 (5:00 PM): Deadline to submit conversion documents to Computershare Investor Services Inc.
  • July 25, 2017: If applicable, Bombardier’s deadline to send to Series 2 or Series 3 shareholders a notice of automatic conversion in the case that, following conversion, there are less than 1M Series 2 or Series 3 shares.

2)     Am I a beneficial or a registered shareholder?

  • Beneficial: Shares are registered under your broker’s name
  • Registered: Shares are registered under your name

3)     How do I convert my shares:

  • Beneficial Shareholder: Please contact your broker as soon as possible in order to give him sufficient time to return all relevant documents to Computershare within the deadline.
  • Registered Shareholder: Please complete the back of your share certificate and submit to Computershare following the instructions provided in the information package sent to you.
