Bombardier Aerospace has expanded its service coverage for Bombardier Global Express* operators with the announcement that Midcoast Aviation and Jet Aviation Geneva have been named by the company to serve as Authorized Service Facilities (ASF) for the ultra long-range business jet.
With operations at St. Louis Downtown Airport, Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, Spirit of St. Louis Airport, and Perryville Municipal Airport, Midcoast Aviation is Bombardier’s only U.S. ASF for the Bombardier Global Express. It boasts over 400,000 square feet (37,160 sq. m) of hangar, backshop and office space and more than 800 employees.
Jet Aviation Geneva, in Switzerland, is the second of Jet Aviation Group’s worldwide network to receive Bombardier’s authorization to perform the full range of service on the Bombardier Global Express joining the firm’s Singapore location. Jet Aviation Geneva is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA)/Joint Airworthiness Regulations (JAR) 145 approved repair station and holds approvals in Switzerland, Bermuda, Cayman, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia as well as UAE.
Both Jet Aviation and Midcoast Aviation offer a wide range of services, as well as extensive experience working on Bombardier products. Since 1980, Midcoast Aviation has been performing completions on Bombardier Challenger* aircraft and has recently performed major modification and maintenance for several Bombardier Global Express aircraft on a contract basis.
“The growth of the Bombardier Global Express fleet worldwide and the expansion of our product line to include the Bombardier Global 5000 underscore our need to continue to develop service and support capabilities to meet the needs of Bombardier Global Express operators. We are pleased to add both organizations to our authorized service network,” noted Jim Ziegler, vice president and general manager, Bombardier Business Aviation Services, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft.
“As an ASF, Midcoast Aviation can provide a full scope of maintenance and modification services, including warranty work,” explainedKurt Sutterer, Executive Vice President of Midcoast Aviation. As of August 31, 2003, almost 120 Bombardier Global Express aircraft were in daily service.
“We are pleased to receive this recognition from Bombardier,” said Markus Huber, vice president and general manager of Jet Aviation Geneva. “Our selection indicates that we meet the very strict standards and requirements Bombardier has established for its ASFs. We look forward to demonstrating our capabilities to Bombardier Global Express customers operating in Europe and the Middle East,” he added.
