Bombardier Inaugurates Spare Parts Depot In Brazil

Bombardier Aerospace today took another major step in ensuring its Latin American business aircraft customers receive industry-leading service by opening a spare parts depot in Brazil. The new facility, operated by Armazéns Gerais Columbia S.A., is now ready to ship parts to operators in the region.

Strategically located near Sao Paulo’s busy Congonhas and Guarhulos International Airports, the fully bonded depot will take advantage of hundreds of direct daily flights to rapidly dispatch essential service and Aircraft On Ground (AOG) parts to customers across South America.

The 3,000 square-foot (279 sq-m) facility will house approximately 2,300 individual high-demand parts, totalling over 75,000 pieces, and an approximate value of $7 million U.S.

The new depot is part of a larger Bombardier drive to ensure operators worldwide have ready access to competitively priced parts and components when and where they need them. The depot will also support Bombardier’s commitment to improving counter-to-counter AOG parts delivery worldwide.

The Sao Paulo depot is the fourth new parts facility to be opened in the past two years after Chicago, Frankfurt, and Dubai. The Bombardier network also features parts depots in Montreal; Beijing; Sydney and Singapore. All international depots are serviced by state-of-the-art inventory management systems operating in the Frankfurt and Chicago super warehouses. The Chicago nerve centre near O’Hare International Airport will supply inventory to the Sao Paulo facility on a regular basis.

Ongoing service and parts support commitment to Latin America
The new Sao Paulo is a component of a larger program aimed at improving service and support for customers in the region, which includes Ocean Air as an Authorized Service Facility for Learjet aircraft since March 2005.

The Bombardier Service network for business aircraft is comprised of 39 facilities providing the highest quality of aircraft maintenance support for its operators around the globe. It includes five Original Equipment Manufacturer Service Centers, and 34 Authorized Service Facilities and Line Maintenance Facilities worldwide.
