Adds to growing presence in Berlin, Frankfurt
Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) today announced it is providing Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) support for Bombardier business jets at Munich’s Franz Josef Strauss Airport – Bavaria’s main airport – starting January 2007.
Together with AOG support teams from Berlin, the new Munich AOG satellite station will offer urgent repair service to Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft operators 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
It will operate in conjunction with Premium Aviation and MCM Maintenance Center at the airport’s General Aviation Terminal (GAT) to offer more than 1,672 square metres (18,000 sq ft) of combined hangar space and 10 highly qualified maintenance technicians. Both Premium Aviation and MCM have a long history of supporting executive operators and offer a complete range of Fixed Base Operator (FBO) services.
The initial EASA Part 145 Line Maintenance Station approval in Munich will include authorization to perform light scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including warranty work, on Learjet 60 and Challenger 604 aircraft.
“This new AOG satellite station complements our facilities in Frankfurt and Berlin, allowing Bombardier customers to now enjoy greater access to LBAS maintenance and repair services throughout Germany,” stated Andreas Kaden, LBAS managing director.
It also represents the second LBAS expansion this year, following the addition of a 2,000-square-metre (21,528-sq-ft) Learjet hangar at Berlin-Schöenefeld Airport in May,
capable of accommodating six Learjet aircraft.
